Position Overview:

Community Solutions invests a portion of foundation grants directly into communities participating in Built for Zero to help with capacity issues and to fill gaps that prevent communities from achieving significant reductions toward reaching “functional zero” homelessness.

This role will work across the Built for Zero, Strategic Partnerships and Operations teams to ensure Community Solutions’ community investment process is successfully managed. The Community Investment Coordinator is responsible for coordinating these investments throughout the organization. This includes tracking received funds, coordinating investment activities, ensuring funds are paid out, tracking their impact and completing any necessary reporting.

Defining Success for this Position:

Success for this position is an effective, seamless, trackable, community investment system that is fully compliant with not for profit grant requirements and any further conditions of funders providing these investment dollars.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Assure compliance with CS and funder requirements for receipt, expenditure, and accounting for funds.
  • Support Investment Review Committee of CS staff and Board members
  • Record grant award details into internal software to ensure all relevant teams are updated on information.
  • Project manage the community investment process, including gathering information and input from multiple teams and external sources and ensuring deadlines are met.
  • Review funding requests to ensure they follow funding requirements
  • Track expenditures of all investment grants to ensure timeliness
  • Monitor progress and reporting of community projects
  • Ensure investment information is always up to date and easily accessible for all CS staff to be able to track the aggregate progress of our investments.

Professional Experience and Qualifications:

  • Significant experience managing not for profit grants and finances
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Experience or demonstrated ability in the administration of complex customer relationship management (CRM) and database software.
  • Experience with Salesforce a must
  • Must have the ability to handle multiple tasks in a fast-paced, dynamic team environment and demonstrate a willingness to shift easily between various responsibilities.
  • Ability to work independently and self-manage to achieve goals while being a team player.
  • Strong project management skills, particularly the ability to organize and meet deadlines.
  • Facility with computer-based software packages including experience utilizing grant management software a plus.

Salary Range:

$47,500 - $59,400 based on previous experience and qualifications.

Work Environment:

The position may work remotely from anywhere in the US but would ideally be based in a city where our team has an office, including Atlanta, Los Angeles, New York, or DC.
